Ambassador Simon Karam is set to depart Beirut for Washington on Wednesday, according to information from MTV. The same source reported an exceptional effort and intensive contacts being led by President Joseph Aoun to solidify the ceasefire before Thursday, aiming to secure a comfortable atmosphere for the negotiating delegation and for the Lebanese domestic front.

Thursday's discussions will be limited to cementing the ceasefire, the information added. The agenda will then shift on Friday to other items, including the Israeli withdrawal, the exchange of prisoners, the return of displaced persons, and other details.
