Mohamed Aziz, head of Lebanon's Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority, stated that Lebanon is technically prepared to receive flights from the United States. However, he emphasized that US flights have more stringent security requirements compared to others, with local authorities enforcing tighter oversight. He noted that there are two or three airport gates where enhanced security procedures can be implemented before boarding.

In an interview with MFM, Aziz mentioned that the technical aspects of initiating these flights would require approximately two months. He explained that airlines operate on two flight scheduling cycles annually, and Lebanon is currently awaiting airlines willing to add these additional flights.

Aziz also pointed out that direct flights would reduce travel time between the two countries by about four hours. He added that the current aircraft fleet covers all US states, contributing to this time saving.
