Lebanese authorities have not finalized a decision to extradite Syrian Brigadier General Adel Issa due to legal and procedural obstacles, including Lebanon’s law abolishing the death penalty.

Lebanese authorities have yet to determine whether to hand over Syrian Brigadier General Adel Issa to Syria, according to information obtained by MTV.
The delay stems from several legal and procedural hurdles, the foremost of which is Lebanon’s law abolishing the death penalty—a provision that prohibits the extradition of wanted individuals to countries where capital punishment remains in force.
