Lebanon's Minister Fadi Maki and World Bank director Enrique Blanco Armas discussed accelerating a $150 million digital transformation project.

Lebanon's Minister of State for Administrative Development, Fadi Maki, received World Bank Country Director for Lebanon Enrique Blanco Armas at his office on Wednesday. The meeting centered on deepening cooperation between the ministry and the international lender, with a particular focus on public-sector administrative reform and digitalization programs.
A central topic was the Lebanon Digital Acceleration Project (LDAP), a $150 million initiative financed by the World Bank and overseen by Maki's ministry. Discussions explored ways to speed up its implementation and maximize its impact on modernizing public services and streamlining bureaucratic procedures.
The two sides also examined the possibility of allocating a percentage of the loan through the Contingent Emergency Response Project (CERP). This mechanism would allow the Lebanese state to tap into funds for urgent needs during crises, bolstering the government's preparedness to respond to emergencies.
