Media and Communications Committee Reviews Cellular Companies' Management Tender
The Media and Communications Committee held a session to discuss the tender process for managing and operating two cellular companies.

The Media and Communications Committee convened a meeting chaired by MP Ibrahim Al-Moussawi, with members MPs Qabalan Qabalan, Paula Yacoubian, Cesar Abi Khalil, Nicolas Sahnaoui, Saeed Al-Asmar, Jimmy Jabbour, and Adnan Traboulsi in attendance.
Also present were Jean Al-Alia, head of the Public Procurement Authority; Dr. Rajaa Al-Sharif, responsible for the Legal Affairs Unit at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority; and board members Engineer Mohammed Ayoub and Dr. Diana Bou Ghanem.
The committee continued its discussion on one of its agenda items concerning responses from the Ministry of Telecommunications regarding the tender for managing and operating the two cellular companies. It heard explanations from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority about certain details related to the tender method and the preparation of the terms of reference. The head of the Public Procurement Authority provided legal observations on some responses connected to the file, alongside the legal frameworks for the tender process and the preparation of the terms of reference.
At the session's conclusion, the committee affirmed its commitment to "continue monitoring the issue from all aspects, in coordination with all concerned authorities."
