The Ministry of Education denies allegations that Minister Reima Karami is withholding the teacher sabbatical file from the Council of Ministers, stating the document has already been submitted.

Issued by the media office of the Minister of Education and Higher Education:
In response to information circulated by several websites and social media groups claiming that Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Reima Karami is holding back the teacher sabbatical file and refusing to submit it to the Council of Ministers, the media office wishes to clarify the following:
The issue of teacher sabbaticals has always been, and remains, a top priority for Her Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education. It lies at the core of her firmly held convictions regarding the need to ensure fairness for university staff and strengthen the stability of the Lebanese University. Since assuming her duties, the minister and her team have worked seriously to complete the file and address all necessary legal, administrative, and financial aspects, bringing it to its final stages.
It is also important to emphasize that the file is no longer under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, but has already been deposited with the Prime Minister, who, in accordance with constitutional and administrative procedures, has the authority to determine the appropriate timing for placing it on the agenda of the Council of Ministers, taking into account national, political, and financial considerations governing government operations.
Therefore, any claims suggesting that the minister is withholding the file or refusing to submit it to the Council of Ministers are entirely baseless and have no connection to reality. They contradict the actual course the file has followed and the procedures implemented regarding it.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education reiterates its full commitment to completing this file and calls for accuracy in information gathering, urging the public to rely only on official sources to avoid spreading false news that could cause confusion among faculty members and the general public.
