Minister of Education inspects educational support centers for high school candidates in Sidon, Beirut, and Aley
Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Rima Karami inspected educational support centers for official high school exam candidates in Sidon, Beirut, and Aley, emphasizing partnerships with international organizations to provide support amid displacement and war repercussions.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education followed up on the activity of providing educational support for candidates for the official examinations for the General Secondary Certificate in its four branches, in the teaching and learning centers designated and funded by "UNICEF" and "UNESCO", located in the teachers' houses in Sidon, Beirut, and Aley.
In this context, the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Rima Karami, inspected the teachers' house in Sidon, in the presence of the President of the "Hariri Foundation for Development" Mrs. Bahia Hariri, the Head of the Preparation and Training Office at the Educational Center Rania Ghoussoub, the Head of the Education Section at UNICEF Natalie Sabatier, the UNESCO representative Assem Abi Ali, the director of the house Zeinab Saadiya, and a group of public and private school principals affiliated with the school network of Sidon and its surroundings.
Karami
The Minister Karami toured the classrooms, listened to the students, and explained to them the importance of participating in the support courses that save families the cost of private tutoring hours they need for reinforcement in preparation for the exams that were postponed due to repeated Israeli aggressions.
The Minister pointed out that "the Ministry is building partnerships with many international organizations, associations, and partners to provide the elements of support, especially for students suffering from the repercussions of displacement and war."
She answered students' questions about keeping or canceling the exams, stressing that this matter "carries fundamental security aspects, and that the decision in this regard is not in the hands of the Ministry of Education but in the hands of the Council of Ministers."
She noted that the Ministry has considered the possibilities of postponement, reducing the number of chapters within the subjects, and granting leniency in case there are circumstances preventing a student from taking the exams, and that the Ministry has prepared the mechanisms and preparations for these situations, while the rest is in the hands of the Council of Ministers.
Hariri
For her part, Mrs. Bahia Hariri stressed "the importance of the educational support that her foundation provides this year in partnership with the Ministry in the learning and teaching centers at the teachers' house in Sidon," and encouraged students to be diligent and committed to preparing for the official exams, and thus raise their readiness to move towards university education. She expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the Minister to preserve the official certificate given its importance in building the students' future.
Beirut
On the other hand, within the framework of the Ministry's follow-up of this process, the Director of Secondary Education Khaled Fayyad inspected the teaching and learning center at the teachers' house in Bir Hassan in Beirut, toured the classrooms, checked on the students' preparations and the progress of affairs, commending their courage, and urged them to acquire as much information as possible, especially as they are on the threshold of entering universities.
The candidates appreciated this step, and demanded an increase in the number of days of the support course at the teaching and learning center in case the exams are postponed.
Aley
In the teachers' house in Aley, the Regional Director in the Directorate of Secondary Education Wissam Ghazi inspected the support course, reviewed the conditions of the candidates, and encouraged them to make the most of this course to be more prepared to take the exams, and to choose their university specialization with full confidence.
