MP Ibrahim Kanaan emphasized that amending the law regarding deadlines, due to the recent period of inactivity, benefits all citizens and pertains to taxes, contracts, and other issues. Alongside this law, several others have been completed, including those related to tax residency, an agreement to increase Lebanon’s share in the European Bank that finances projects worth billions of dollars, with the possibility of further funding depending on increased shares, as well as laws concerning customs regulation, civil defense, employee cooperatives, and the housing institution, all addressing matters important to people's daily lives.

In an interview with "An-Nahar," Kanaan stated that it is not feasible for committee work and legislative drafting within the parliament—covering all proposals and projects required by the country or submitted by MPs—to continue for a year or more without translating their outcomes into legislative sessions. Such sessions are necessary to avoid losing deadlines and citizens' rights and to ensure these are preserved without postponing them from year to year.

Kanaan stressed the importance of preventing the session from turning into a political rally filled with speeches. He called to focus on legislation rather than politics during the session and to work on what the country requires and what Lebanese citizens need.
