New Import Fees Imposed on Lebanese Goods

Hani Bahsali, head of the Food Importers Syndicate, informed MTV that a decision to impose fees ranging from 1 to 3 percent on most goods imported into Lebanon was published on Thursday in the official gazette without prior notification to the relevant parties, causing surprise among importers.
He explained that this measure will have an immediate and direct impact on the prices of goods in Lebanese markets, potentially worsening the financial pressures faced by citizens.
