Terrifying Images: Slaughterhouse in Wadi al-Musaytba Closed by Order of Beirut Governor
Beirut Municipality closed an unlicensed slaughterhouse in Wadi al-Musaytba following a field inspection that revealed severe health and safety violations.

The Public Relations Department of the Beirut Municipality stated in a release that, based on directives from Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud, the Slaughterhouses Directorate of the Beirut Municipality conducted a field inspection at 3:00 AM on one of the slaughterhouses in the Wadi al-Musaytba area, assisted by the Beirut office of the Lebanese Army Intelligence Directorate and the Beirut Guard Regiment.

The inspection revealed that the "Mar'i" slaughterhouse, located in parcel 2227 of the Musaytba cadastral zone owned by Mr. Hussein Hassan Al-Hassan Al-Abdullah, was operating without a legal license, without veterinary supervision, and did not meet health, hygiene, and public safety conditions, in addition to slaughtering livestock and displaying them in violation of applicable regulations and procedures.

Based on the recorded violations, a report was drawn up against the violator, and Governor Abboud issued decision No. 851/B ordering its closure and sealing with red wax, which was carried out by the Slaughterhouses Directorate of the Beirut Municipality with assistance from the Beirut Guard Regiment.

The Beirut Municipality emphasizes continuing its monitoring tours and taking the necessary legal and administrative measures against violators, especially activities that pose a risk to public health and food safety, or violate hygiene and public safety conditions and encroach upon public property, reaffirming its commitment to enforcing applicable laws and regulations, protecting citizens' safety, and ensuring compliance with adopted health standards.
