The commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Major General Deodatto Abagnara, paid an official visit to Tebnine Governmental Hospital, where he presented a donation comprising medical equipment and supplies aimed at strengthening and sustaining healthcare services.

Major General Abagnara and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Nabil Fawaz, President of the Union of Al-Qalaa Municipalities; Lieutenant Colonel Ali Al-Durr, Head of the Lebanese Army Intelligence Office in Tebnine; Dr. Mohammad Hammadi, Chairman of Tebnine Governmental Hospital's Board; Dr. Mousa Jaber, Physician of the Bint Jbeil District; as well as union mayors and a group of doctors and hospital staff members.

The visit began with a tour of various hospital departments during which Major General Abagnara reviewed the medical equipment and services. He received detailed explanations about the hospital’s operational status and needs, particularly considering the difficult conditions the area endured during the recent war.

Dr. Hammadi welcomed the guests and expressed his profound gratitude to UNIFIL for this generous initiative and their ongoing support to the hospital. He emphasized the significance of this cooperation in enhancing the hospital's capacity to continue fulfilling its humanitarian mission.

Nabil Fawaz praised UNIFIL’s role in supporting the hospital throughout the war period. He highlighted the resilience of the hospital’s administration, doctors, nurses, and staff who maintained their humanitarian duties despite the challenging security conditions.

Major General Abagnara affirmed the importance of Tebnine Governmental Hospital as a fundamental healthcare facility serving the local population. He stressed UNIFIL’s commitment to continuing its support and contributing to strengthening the hospital’s capabilities to ensure uninterrupted medical services for citizens.

The visit concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields between the hospital administration and UNIFIL leadership, recognizing the cooperation and partnership between the two parties and reaffirming the intention to sustain this collaboration for the benefit of the local community and the healthcare sector.
