UNIFIL emphasizes that adherence to Resolution 1701, along with dialogue and coordination among parties, is essential for de-escalation and restoring full stability in southern Lebanon. The force reported a record 113 Israeli projectiles fired in a single day.

Confirmed the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) that compliance with implementing Resolution 1701, alongside dialogue and coordination between the parties, forms the cornerstone for de-escalation and restoring full stability in southern Lebanon.
UNIFIL stated in a statement that violence has decreased compared to recent months, yet the ground situation remains fragile, noting that peacekeeping forces continue monitoring developments, reporting to the Security Council, carrying out their mandates, and engaging with all parties to contribute to calming the situation.
It added that peacekeepers continue monitoring daily violations of Lebanese airspace and military activities on the ground, highlighting that they recorded the launch of 113 projectiles by the Israeli army yesterday—the highest number observed since June 21.
