Her untimely passing has caused widespread shock and sorrow among her fans and the global beauty pageant audience.

The Miss Universe Jamaica organization confirmed the news through an official obituary statement posted on their Instagram account. The statement expressed deep sorrow over Latoya’s death, noting her participation in the 2024 competition, and extended condolences to her family and friends. Neither the organization nor those close to Latoya have disclosed any details regarding the cause of her sudden death, intensifying the shock and sympathy surrounding the news.

Following the announcement, social media platforms became virtual spaces of mourning as followers and colleagues shared their profound shock at losing Latoya in the prime of her life. A colleague who worked with her in 2024 described her as “a wonderful person in every sense, and working with her was like a breath of fresh air.” Meanwhile, a fan wrote, “She always radiated light and joy; it’s very hard to believe she left so quickly.”

Latoya Malcolm’s career in performance and beauty spanned over a decade. She competed in the Miss Universe 2024 finals and won the title of Miss Jamaica the same year. Additionally, she was a performer and actress for more than ten years.
