The conclusion drawn by the sketch’s characters was that Swift would not be present at the Emmys because she was attending her husband’s football game.

Swift then appeared on screen seated behind a colleague, holding a coffee cup. “Hey guys, this doesn’t add up,” she said. “Our perp has a clear M.O. A lot of this doesn’t fit the pattern, and I don’t think everything is a clue.”
