Jordanian Authorities Detain 17 Suspects in Student Fahd Abu Al-Shaib's Killing

The Jordanian Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of 17 suspects, among them three females, pending investigation into the killing of student Fahd Abu Al-Shaib. The inquiry aims to establish each individual's involvement before proceeding with the necessary legal actions against those responsible.

Initial investigation data indicate that the incident occurred in the commercial area of Al-Sweileh. The victim was reportedly lured to the location, where a group surrounded him and subjected him to severe beating across various parts of his body. The assailants then confiscated his mobile phone and left him unconscious at the scene. Medical reports state that the young man died after being transferred to the hospital in critical condition due to severe skull bleeding caused by direct blows to the head.

Ongoing Investigation Efforts

To clarify the circumstances and motives behind the victim's entrapment, the Chief Public Prosecutor for Major Crimes is coordinating with security agencies to collect evidence. This includes reviewing surveillance camera footage from the crime scene and hearing testimonies from the detained suspects and eyewitnesses present at the location.

Family's Reaction to the Tragedy

In the family's first public statement, the victim's father revealed that his son had left the house that evening to purchase personal items before his official exam, unaware that it would be the last time the family would see him. Witnesses relayed that at least nine individuals directly participated in the assault on his son.

Meanwhile, Fahd's mother expressed profound sorrow, noting that her son balanced his studies with working alongside his father to support the family. She emphasized that he had a good reputation and no known conflicts or enmities with anyone.
