Al Hilal has formally requested an international refereeing team for their upcoming Saudi Pro League match against Al Nassr.

A formal request has been submitted by Al Hilal's management to bring in a foreign officiating crew for their highly anticipated match against Al Nassr. The fixture, scheduled for next Tuesday at Al Nassr's home ground, Al Awwal Park, is part of the 32nd round of the Saudi Pro League and stands as one of the season's most significant encounters.
According to the Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah, Al Hilal filed the request through the electronic "MySAFF" system 21 days before the match, adhering to the timeline set by the refereeing committee. The club also paid the required fees as part of the process.
The current system, in place since last season, allows Saudi clubs to request foreign referees for an unlimited number of matches, whether played at home or away. This measure is intended to enhance officiating fairness in major games.
The cost of bringing in an international team ranges from 375,000 Saudi riyals when a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) is included. The price increases to 450,000 riyals if a fourth official is added alongside the VAR technology.
The match carries immense weight in the battle for the league title. Al Hilal currently sits in second place in the standings, trailing the leaders Al Nassr by three points. Al Nassr holds 79 points with only three rounds remaining in the season.
