Bournemouth has suspended Spanish defender Alex Jimenez after he allegedly sent inappropriate messages to a 15-year-old schoolgirl.

English Premier League club Bournemouth has temporarily suspended Spanish defender Alex Jimenez, who is on loan with the team, pending an investigation into his personal conduct. The 21-year-old right-back is accused of sending messages of an inappropriate nature to a 15-year-old schoolgirl, in which he allegedly expressed an "admiration for younger girls," according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
The girl reportedly informed Jimenez of her real age immediately after receiving the messages. Bournemouth released a statement acknowledging the situation, saying: "AFC Bournemouth is aware of the social media posts circulating regarding right-back Álex Jiménez. The club is aware of the seriousness of this matter and is currently investigating it."
"Consequently, Álex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow's Premier League fixture against Fulham, and the club will not be making any further comment at this time."
In a separate but related development, previous reports indicated that a striker from Elche faces a potential prison sentence of up to 10 and a half years in a sexual assault case.
