Egypt's Court of Cassation issued its final ruling on the appeal filed by Zamalek player Ahmed Fattouh regarding the traffic accident case, upholding a suspended 6-month prison sentence.

The "Youm7" website reported that the Court of Cassation issued its final ruling on the appeal filed by Zamalek player Ahmed Fattouh regarding the traffic accident case.
The court decided to accept the appeal filed by the player procedurally, but rejected it on the merits, thereby upholding the ruling sentencing him to 6 months in prison with suspended execution. This follows a series of legal procedures after a previous ruling from the Matrouh Misdemeanor Appeals Court upholding a one-year suspended sentence for 3 years and a fine of 20,000 Egyptian pounds.
The case dates back to last November, where Ahmed Fattouh was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, driving at high speed under the influence of narcotics, in addition to drug possession, in the incident registered under number 1939 of 2024 in the Al-Alamein Police Department misdemeanors.
During the trial sessions, the player's defense demanded the invalidation of the procedures for withdrawing the analysis sample, arguing that the legal condition of flagrante delicto was not met. The defense also challenged the sufficiency of the medical and chemical reports, pointing to the absence of conclusive evidence in the case files proving drug possession with intent to use, in addition to questioning the credibility of the police investigations on which the indictment decision was based.
