The top-of-the-table clash between Slavia Prague and Sparta Prague was called off on Saturday after hundreds of home fans breached security and invaded the pitch in stoppage time. Slavia was leading 3-2 at their Fortuna Arena, just seconds away from securing the domestic league title.

Supporters of Slavia broke through barriers during added time, some carrying flares, and ran toward the section housing the visiting team's supporters. Burning materials were thrown into the stands as players from both sides attempted to leave the field.

Police intervened to restore order, announcing they had launched a criminal investigation on suspicion of rioting. Authorities confirmed that Sparta Prague goalkeeper Jakub Surovčík was among those targeted by the home fans and sustained an injury from a flare.

"For someone to run at me and threaten me face to face during the match, accompanied by an assault, is absolutely unacceptable," Surovčík said in a statement on social media platforms. "I will pursue this through legal channels."

The referee decided to halt the match. Czech media reported that Sparta players left the stadium shortly afterward on their team bus under police escort, fearing for their safety.

Slavia president Jaroslav Tvrdík backed the decision to end the game. "The opponent reported that one or two players were attacked. I believe ending the match was the right decision," he said, describing the incident as "a stain of shame."
