Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has labeled Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe the finest player in his role, offering high praise ahead of Sunday’s decisive El Clasico at Camp Nou. The German coach also addressed recent turmoil within the Real Madrid camp, suggesting such issues are not unique to their rivals.

A win or a draw for Flick’s side on Sunday would secure the La Liga title with three games to spare. The match carries enormous weight as Barcelona look to clinch the championship on home soil.

Praise for a World-Class Talent

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Flick did not hold back his admiration for the French forward. “Kylian Mbappe is the best in his position and one of the best strikers in the world,” he stated. The Barcelona boss added, “He has incredible quality. In front of goal, he is amazing — there is no debate about that.”

Mbappe has faced sharp criticism recently, both for his on-field performances and for reported attempts to assert dominance in the Real Madrid dressing room. Reports have detailed a lack of discipline within the squad, a dispute with a member of the coaching staff, and accusations of disrespectful behavior.

Dismissing the Drama

When asked about the string of crises at Real Madrid, Flick was measured. “I think these things happen all over the world, they are not exclusive to Real Madrid,” he said. “I was a bit surprised, but I’m not worried because it’s not my team. We have to focus on our own squad.”

The German coach was then pressed on whether similar conflicts exist within his own Barcelona dressing room. “I won’t say there are no problems. We are human, and we all make mistakes. We have to know how to handle them,” he replied. He concluded on the topic by stating, “I am happy with my team. I talk to them and I listen to them. The communication is excellent, and that is extremely important for our work.”

Title on the Line

Flick emphasized the magnitude of the occasion. “The Clasico is not an ordinary match. It is a special clash for everyone, important for the club, the fans, the players, and the coaches,” he said. “We want to win the league two times in a row. That is not normal, and we know how we will handle this encounter.”
