Inter Miami squandered a commanding three-goal lead against Orlando City, losing 4-3 and extending their winless streak at their new Nu Stadium.

Inter Miami CF suffered a dramatic 4-3 defeat against Florida rivals Orlando City, squandering a commanding three-goal lead in a Major League Soccer match. The loss on Saturday marks a continuation of their challenging start at Nu Stadium, where the team remains winless across four games, including this first loss at the new venue.
Despite a stellar performance from Lionel Messi, who contributed a goal and two assists, Miami's defensive vulnerabilities were exposed, leading to a collapse that saw them concede four unanswered goals. This result further questions the team's ability to hold leads at home.
The match began with Inter Miami appearing dominant, showcasing what was described as their most convincing half of the season. The team quickly established a strong lead, with Telasco Segovia setting up Ian Fray for the opening goal within three minutes.
Lionel Messi was central to Miami's attacking prowess, operating in a free role and orchestrating much of the offensive play. He provided an assist for Telasco Segovia's easy finish into an open net after 25 minutes, before scoring a signature goal himself with a left-footed curler into the bottom corner.
By halftime, Miami had recorded 10 shots on target, with Luis Suarez and German Berterame also starting upfront and combining effectively. Although Martin Ojeda pulled one back for Orlando just before the break, Miami held a seemingly comfortable 3-1 advantage.
The second half saw a complete shift in momentum, with Orlando City emerging as the significantly stronger side. Martin Ojeda scored his second goal in the 68th minute, intensifying Orlando's pursuit of an equalizer.
The pressure paid off when Maxi Falcon conceded a penalty in the box, which Orlando converted to level the score. The dramatic turnaround was completed in stoppage time when Tyrese Spicer, assisted by Braian Ojeda, scored the winning goal by finishing between the legs of Miami goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair.
Inter Miami's defense was a major point of concern, with numerous lapses contributing to their downfall. Defender Maxi Falcon, in particular, had a challenging game, struggling with positional awareness and conceding the crucial penalty. Ian Fray, who scored Miami's first goal, was later substituted due to a worrying injury.
The defeat extends Inter Miami's winless streak at Nu Stadium to four games, marking their first loss at the venue after three previous draws. Coach Guillermo Hoyos, who started Suarez and Berterame, initially appeared to have the strategy right, but his team's collapse underscores a miserable start at their new home ground.
