Messi hits 100 MLS goal contributions as Inter Miami beats Toronto 4-2

Lionel Messi scored once and set up two more goals as Inter Miami cruised to a 4-2 victory over Toronto FC at BMO Field in Major League Soccer action. The Argentine superstar also etched his name into the league record books, becoming the fastest player ever to reach 100 goal contributions.

Inter Miami dominated the match from the outset, with their star-studded lineup dictating play. The scoring opened in the 44th minute when Rodrigo De Paul fired a stunning strike to give the visitors a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

The floodgates opened in the second half. Luis Suárez doubled the advantage in the 56th minute after a slick combination involving De Paul and Messi. Sergio Reguilón then made it 3-0 in the 73rd minute, with Messi providing the assist on the Spaniard's first MLS goal.

Messi capped the scoring for Inter Miami in the 75th minute, netting the fourth goal to complete a dominant performance. The goal also marked his 100th goal contribution in MLS — a milestone he reached faster than any player in league history.

Toronto FC pulled two goals back through Emilio Aristizábal, who scored in the 82nd and 90th minutes, but the damage had already been done.

The win lifts Inter Miami to 22 points on the season, keeping them in close pursuit of the league leaders. Toronto FC remain on 14 points, sitting in eighth place in the standings.
