The upcoming OnePlus 16 is anticipated to arrive with a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 185Hz OLED display, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, according to leaker Smart Pikachu, known for reliable Chinese OEM insights.

The device will reportedly feature a 6.78-inch BOE LTPO OLED panel with bezels under 1mm. Its refresh rate will start at 185Hz, an increase from the OnePlus 15’s 165Hz, while a 240Hz option is under consideration. The chipset is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, paired with LPDDR6 RAM, designed to enhance on-device AI processing capabilities.

OnePlus plans to include a dedicated hardware button for launching an AI assistant, a feature appearing on several Android flagship models.

Regarding photography, the 200MP periscope telephoto camera will maintain a 3x optical zoom, suggesting the high megapixel count aims to facilitate extensive crop-and-zoom without compromising image quality rather than extending zoom range.

The 9,000mAh "Glacier Battery" will utilize silicon-carbon anode technology, similar to that used by Honor and Oppo, supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Pricing in China is expected to start around 5,000 Yuan, approximately £490 or $630, representing a roughly 25% increase over the OnePlus 15’s launch price in China. Global pricing has not been confirmed.

However, the OnePlus 16 faces challenges in the UK and US markets. OnePlus announced the winding down of its European operations as of April 2026, and no retail or carrier partnerships have been disclosed for the OnePlus 16 in the UK. The phone’s launch in China is projected for October 2026, but any global release remains uncertain.

The large battery capacity could offer a two-day usage period, a feature not yet delivered by Apple or Samsung flagships. Nevertheless, these specifications are still undergoing engineering validation and may change before release. UK consumers, in particular, have no confirmed purchasing options at this time.
