xAI officially rebrands to SpaceXAI after SpaceX merger
SpaceXAI announces its rebranding and new logo on X, following the merger of Elon Musk's AI and space ventures.

On July 6, 2026, the company formerly known as xAI revealed its new identity as SpaceXAI through a post on the social network X, accompanied by the launch of a new logo. This change follows the merger of Elon Musk’s AI and space enterprises five months earlier, consolidating xAI under SpaceX’s umbrella.
Elon Musk had initially disclosed the combined company’s new name in May, clarifying that xAI would cease to operate as an independent entity within SpaceX. The social media account for xAI now reflects the SpaceXAI branding, while SpaceX maintains a separate account dedicated to updates on its spacecraft, designs, and launches.
In February, when SpaceX acquired xAI, Musk emphasized that terrestrial infrastructure cannot meet the global electricity demands of AI technologies. He stated that relocating energy-intensive data center operations to space represents "the only logical solution." This vision includes plans for orbital data centers, supported by an application SpaceX filed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to deploy one million satellites intended for a space-based data center, a move initiated prior to the merger announcement.
Additionally, xAI’s acquisition of the social network X in 2025 means that the platform is now incorporated under the SpaceXAI brand. The public offering of SpaceX, including xAI and X, took place in June, with shares closing at $161 and valuing the company at $2.1 trillion. While Stocktwits reports that the new branding has not yet appeared in official filings, the xAI website already displays the updated logo and company name.
