An American strike on a civilian cargo boat near Hormuz Strait left 10 sailors wounded and 5 missing, an Iranian official said.

Ten sailors were wounded and five others remain missing after a US attack on a civilian cargo vessel near the waters of Minab city in southern Iran, the local governor announced Friday. Mohammad Radmehr, the governor of Minab, said the strike occurred late Thursday in the area of the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman.
The commercial boat, which belonged to residents of the "Kalahi" district in Minab, was bombarded during what Radmehr described as "American aggressive actions" in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz and the Makran Sea, causing a fire to break out on board. Speaking to the Mehr news agency, the official stated the vessel was carrying 15 sailors at the time of the incident. Ten of the injured have been transported to a hospital, while rescue teams and volunteer groups continue searching for the five missing individuals.
Radmehr accused the United States of targeting commercial ships, asserting that such attacks reflect what he termed a "state of helplessness and confusion on the part of the enemy."
These developments come amid escalating military tensions in the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz, following confrontations that erupted late Thursday evening between Iran and the United States near the strategic waterway.
