Abu Dhabi Launches World's First AI-Based Judicial Platform

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, announced the launch of a judicial platform that relies on artificial intelligence.

Through his account on the platform "Oks," Sheikh Mansour described this as a new global achievement added to the UAE's record of accomplishments, calling it the first fully integrated judicial platform of its kind worldwide based on artificial intelligence.

He characterized the initiative as a reflection of their belief that innovation is the path to more efficient and faster justice, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a global model in developing government and judicial work.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Government Empowerment Department, held coordination meetings to discuss the implementation of the "AI Judicial Platform" project. The platform aims to support judicial and legal decision-making based on artificial intelligence under full human supervision and verification, intending to enhance procedural speed and ensure accuracy and consistency in judicial work, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The joint project committee reviewed the proposed work plan to launch the comprehensive judicial platform across the entire judicial workflow. The first phase of the platform is expected to begin in September, followed by gradual implementation over a year and a half.

Yousef Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, stated that the move to apply this innovative judicial system embodies the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, regarding leadership, innovation, and adopting future technologies to elevate the quality of government services. He added that this direction aligns with the directives of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to advance the judicial system according to the highest global standards and emphasizes the department’s commitment to adopting the latest advanced technologies to develop smart justice and consolidate Abu Dhabi’s leadership in the judicial field.

Al Abri also noted that the AI platform will provide advanced capabilities through an integrated system of smart solutions that contribute to modernizing judicial work mechanisms and facilitating procedures. This will be achieved by employing artificial intelligence technologies at various litigation stages, supporting speed, accuracy, and quality in judicial processes, and advancing digital transformation according to the highest standards of efficiency and reliability.
