Earlier in the evening, police communicated via WhatsApp that a vehicle was believed to have entered Tiergarten Park and struck several people, causing injuries. Emergency teams are currently providing care to the wounded, and intensive searches are underway for persons suspected of involvement in the incident.
According to the German newspaper Bild, citing an eyewitness, a small white truck crashed into a crowd in Tiergarten Park. The incident reportedly occurred around 10 p.m.
German police have stated that there is currently no public danger, although they cannot completely rule out the possibility.
In a post on the platform X, the mayor of Berlin condemned what he described as an attack on the city’s free, open, and diverse community. He said, "After a peaceful and colorful Pride march, the gathering advocating for a tolerant and peaceful Berlin was subjected to an unimaginably brutal attack. Berlin is a city of freedom, and today our freedom was subjected to a horrific assault," according to his statement.
