Death Toll from Venezuela Earthquakes Rises to 2,295
The death toll from last week's devastating earthquakes in Venezuela has reached 2,295, with over 11,000 injured, officials report.

The number of fatalities from the two destructive earthquakes that struck Venezuela last week has climbed to 2,295, according to Jorge Rodríguez, the president of the country's National Assembly.
Rodríguez also reported that more than 11,000 individuals sustained injuries due to the disaster.
Earlier, Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, declared a seven-day mourning period for the victims.
Venezuelans, supported by specialized teams from around the world, continue to search for survivors a week after the earthquakes occurred. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of survivors face shortages of food and shelter. Despite these challenges, rescue operations in dozens of destroyed residential buildings have persisted and saved lives.
