Drone Debris Sparks Fire at Russian Oil Depot in Krasnodar
Debris from a drone attack ignited a fire at an oil storage facility in Russia's Krasnodar region, amid intensified Ukrainian strikes on Russian targets.
Authorities reported on Thursday that debris resulting from a drone attack caused a fire at an oil depot located in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia.
In recent months, Ukraine has escalated its attacks on Russia, responding to near-daily airstrikes carried out by Moscow using drones and missiles throughout the ongoing conflict, now in its fifth year.
Kyiv maintains that the Ukrainian military primarily targets military installations and energy infrastructure in an effort to deprive the Kremlin of critical fossil fuel revenues that support its war efforts.
Alexander Kharitonov, head of the Krasnoarmeysk district in the Krasnodar territory, posted on the Russian state platform "Max" that "a fire broke out at the Poltavskaya oil depot following the fall of drone debris," without specifying the drone's origin.
Minutes later, Ukrainian emergency services reported that a Russian attack had ignited a fire at an industrial facility, which firefighters were able to extinguish without any injuries reported.
