France's Foreign Minister Announces EU's 21st Sanctions Package Against Russia
France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced that the EU will adopt its 21st sanctions package targeting Russia on July 13.

France's Foreign Minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, stated that the European Union is set to adopt its twenty-first sanctions package against Russia on Monday, July 13.
Speaking in Poland on Thursday, Barrot said, "The twenty-first sanctions package, scheduled for adoption next Monday, will impact the Russian financial sector and lead to a further decline in energy revenues."
Last Tuesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the 21st sanctions package includes freezing the price cap on Russian oil, which currently stands at $44.1 per barrel.
Earlier, the newspaper Politico reported, citing unnamed diplomats, that Bulgaria opposes certain provisions of the new sanctions package the EU plans to impose on Russia, without providing further details.
The Russian mission declared that Moscow will respond to the EU's unlawful sanctions.
Russia has repeatedly affirmed its ability to withstand the pressure of sanctions imposed by the West over several years, which continue to escalate.
The Russian leadership describes the sanctions policy as part of a long-term strategy aimed at containing and weakening Russia, noting that these measures have negatively affected the global economy.
Moscow has also indicated that the West lacks the courage to admit the failure of the sanctions policy, while voices within Western countries themselves acknowledge that sanctions against Russia are ineffective.
