US President Donald Trump confirmed today, Sunday, that the United States has destroyed a significant portion of Iran's military capabilities, but still needs to deal with "one or two sites."

Regarding negotiations with the Iranians, Trump clarified that talks with Iran to end the war are "going well, but as you know, they are not entirely trustworthy."

The US President said in remarks to reporters from Florida: "Iran will not possess a nuclear weapon. They want to make a deal; and we will see what happens regarding that."

Trump was speaking while attending a "Halloween" party held at his private resort and club, "Mar-a-Lago," in Palm Beach, Florida.

He added: "We have destroyed Iran's nuclear capabilities, and there are still one or two sites left that we need to deal with. We can handle the remaining site or sites in Iran within 10 minutes."

Trump referred to the Iranian nuclear site "Jabal al-Fas" (Axe Mountain), stating that it is "considered one of the Iranian sites we must deal with, and we can do so very quickly."

Trump continued: "We are not in a hurry regarding Iran after we destroyed its naval and air forces and anti-aircraft defenses."

This comes amid circulating press reports suggesting the possibility of launching a short and intense military campaign following the US midterm elections scheduled for Tuesday.

Sources familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal today, Sunday, that Trump had a phone call with his Middle East ally Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, amidst indications of US planning to resume fighting against Iran.
