US President Donald Trump headed to a polling station in Florida on Saturday to cast his early vote in the midterm elections, which are considered decisive for the course of his second presidential term.

After voting, Trump responded to journalists' questions regarding corruption as a key issue for voters by stating that such problems occur in areas and cities controlled by Democrats.

Trump, who arrived at the polling station in "West Palm Beach" near his residence at "Mar-a-Lago," accompanied by First Lady Melania, added: "You should look at real corruption; it is Democratic corruption."

Trump, who has long refused to acknowledge his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, claiming without basis that widespread fraud occurred, raised new allegations in this context, asserting there were invalid ballots in Los Angeles, a city with a Democratic majority.

Ten days before the midterm elections, which usually yield unfavorable results for the party holding the White House, Trump faces declining opinion polls indicating a possible loss of control over the House of Representatives, and perhaps even the Senate.

Without a majority in Congress, the 80-year-old president will find himself with no room for maneuver to pass his legislative agenda during the final two years of his term.

Trump may also face numerous parliamentary investigations from Democrats, who have expressed their desire to scrutinize business deals made by the president and his close associates through the family holding company since his return to the White House.
