The deputy for political and security affairs in Bushehr province, Ehsan Jahaniyan, said that reports about the Bushehr nuclear plant or its waste site being hit by projectiles are "baseless," stressing that no radiation leak or nuclear emissions occurred.
He added that publishing unverified news about targeting military or civilian sites causes anxiety and public confusion, calling for verifying information from official sources before circulating it.
The Iranian official affirmed that the Bushehr nuclear plant continues to operate normally and enjoys "full security," denying any damage or problems at the facility.
Earlier, the governor of Bushehr city, Mohammad Mozafari, announced that four sites in the city were attacked by US forces at dawn today, confirming no casualties have been recorded so far.
Mozafari said, in a statement reported by Iran's ISNA news agency, that the attacks targeting Bushehr province continued at dawn today, noting that ten projectiles hit four sites within Bushehr city.
He added that relevant authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the attacks, along with assessing potential damage and losses, confirming that preliminary reports have not recorded any injuries or deaths.
