Iraqi Judiciary Reports 127 Billion Dinars and $24 Million Seized in Oil Ministry Case
The Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council announced an increase in seized funds linked to the detained Oil Ministry official, totaling 127 billion dinars and $24 million.

The Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council revealed on Monday that the total amount of money seized in the case involving the detained Oil Ministry Deputy for Liquidation Affairs, Adnan Al-Jumaili, has risen to 127 billion dinars and 24 million US dollars, with a combined total estimated at "121 million dollars."
According to a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), this increase followed the seizure of an additional 25 billion Iraqi dinars in the case.
The council added that "the investigating judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court detailed the seizure of 25 billion Iraqi dinars, along with one million US dollars and gold jewelry estimated at approximately five kilograms, in the case of the detained Oil Ministry Deputy for Liquidation Affairs, Adnan Al-Jumaili, and the involved parties."
The specialized judge further explained that "due to meticulous follow-up on the seizure of financial proceeds resulting from waste in projects executed by the accused and other involved parties, these amounts were found hidden inside plastic water bottles within the defendant's residence in the city of Tikrit."
He noted that "the total seized funds have now increased to 127 billion dinars and 24 million dollars, in addition to the real estate, vehicles, and gold artifacts that have been confiscated," affirming that "investigations and the pursuit of other involved individuals continue until all legal procedures are completed."
