Belarusian President Lukashenko stated that nuclear arms would be deployed solely in the event of aggression against Belarus.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko declared on Friday that Belarus would resort to using nuclear weapons only if it faces aggression. This statement came during a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, in which several issues were discussed, including the situation in Ukraine.
Speaking in a press briefing with Belarusian channel STV, as reported by Sputnik agency, Lukashenko said, "I have stated this personally: nuclear weapons will be used in only one case—if there is aggression against Belarus."
He also informed Macron that he has no intention of engaging in any war. Lukashenko noted that many questions were raised during their conversation, including brief discussions about negotiations between the United States and Belarus.
Addressing Macron, Lukashenko said, "You are an experienced man, take action. You are the main player and driving force in Europe today, so to speak. You have visited Armenia; now you should come and talk to us in Moscow or Minsk and resolve this matter through dialogue."
Lukashenko proposed a meeting with Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Minsk.
Earlier, following a joint nuclear exercise with Russia, Lukashenko stated that Belarus would respond immediately to any aggression using all types of weapons. The Belarusian news agency BelTA quoted him saying, "We do not wish for anything to happen, God forbid. You saw the nuclear exercise. No one will consider anything here. Once an attack occurs against us, once there is aggression, the aggressor will receive a response with all types of weapons. Otherwise, why would we keep them? This is certain and very important for us."
He added, "Do not come near us, and we certainly do not intend to harm you."
