Iranian Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi has been moved from Zanjan to a hospital in Tehran for ongoing treatment, following a court order.

Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi has been transferred to a hospital in Tehran to continue her medical treatment, her lawyer announced Sunday. Attorney Mostafa Nili wrote on X that Mohammadi left a hospital in Zanjan after a court temporarily suspended her sentence for medical reasons, and was taken by ambulance to Pars Hospital in Tehran, where she has been admitted for care.
Nili explained that the decision was based on a forensic medical opinion confirming the necessity of continuing her treatment outside prison under the supervision of her medical team, due to her suffering from multiple illnesses. Political activist Taghi Rahmani, Mohammadi’s husband, also confirmed the transfer to Pars Hospital in a post on X.
Mohammadi, who was detained in Zanjan Prison, had been moved on May 1 to a hospital in the city after her health deteriorated. Her family and the foundation supporting her had called for her transfer to Tehran to receive treatment from accredited doctors.
