Announced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel destroyed Hezbollah's major stronghold in Qalat al-Shaqif and Ali al-Tahir, and said: “We will continue destroying its infrastructure in the security zone in Lebanon, and eliminating every threat against Israel.”

Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated that the Ali al-Tahir heights are part of the Yellow Line and Israel’s security zone inside Lebanon.

Katz clarified that the army is prepared to thwart any attempt by Hezbollah’s militia or any other entity to return to the area.

He emphasized that any approach toward the Ali al-Tahir heights will be met with immediate action, stressing that Israel will not leave the security zone and will not withdraw or redeploy in southern Lebanon before Hezbollah disarms.

On Saturday, the website ‘Walla’ reported, citing military sources, that the Israeli army will not withdraw from the heights in southern Lebanon, confirming that the Yellow Line will be enforced, as it completed detonating the Ali al-Tahir hill and imposed fire control over the region.

These statements come amid growing internal and external pressure on Hezbollah to remove its weapons from the area, while Israel warned it would act against the group if the Lebanese army does not intervene.

The Hebrew site also quoted sources from the Israeli Northern Command, stating that destroying Hezbollah’s infrastructure on the Ali al-Tahir heights does not signify a shift in Israel’s military stance.

The sources said: “There is no intention to retreat. The Yellow Line is the dividing line, and we will strengthen our presence. We will reorganize our forces there now that the mission is complete.”

According to Lebanese military sources, the Israeli army has taken control of the southern entrances to the heights, while continuing to monitor other access points via drones, without knowing the extent of its penetration into Hezbollah’s tunnel network.
