Photos Reveal Extensive Damage to Buildings and Vehicles at U.S. Military Sites Following Iranian Attacks (Photos)

New images obtained exclusively by CBS News for the first time reveal the extent of damage and destruction inflicted on buildings and vehicles at several U.S. military sites across the Middle East due to Iranian attacks.

The images were sent to the network by active-duty military personnel who requested anonymity due to strict media restrictions within the military establishment. One serviceman deployed in the region said: "These are serious damages to our bases, and the American public has not been informed. We stand there with our eyes closed, taking punches to the face."

One image, taken at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, shows direct impact to the rear half of a four-engine Boeing E-3 Sentry aircraft. The tail section had detached from the burning fuselage, which still carried a rotating radar essential for airborne intelligence gathering.

Other images taken at the base show empty buildings and barracks, their structures still standing alongside "T-wall" concrete barriers that remained undamaged. These barriers were used as basic fortifications to protect against hand grenades and mortar attacks but proved largely ineffective against aerial assaults.

According to CBS News, similar grim photos were captured at Camp Buhairin in Kuwait, which served as a major assembly point for U.S. ground forces, armored vehicles, and some aircraft. The camp was located in a remote desert area in northwesternmost Kuwait, far from the capital city.
