Pope Leo XIV Votes by Mail in US Midterm Elections
Pope Leo XIV cast his vote by mail in the upcoming US midterm elections, exercising his right as an American citizen from Vatican City.

Pope Leo XIV cast his vote in the United States midterm elections "as he usually does whenever the opportunity arises," according to a statement released by the Vatican Press Office.
According to AFP, the statement noted that "Pope Leo XIV exercised his right to vote as an American citizen, as he typically does whenever the opportunity presents itself."
"In keeping with this established tradition of civic participation, the Pope mailed his ballot to Chicago," the statement added.
US media outlets reported that the Pope requested to participate in the US midterm elections, scheduled for November 3, by voting by mail from his residence in Vatican City.
The Chicago Sun-Times quoted the Cook County Clerk's office confirming that the Pope is listed among those who have requested mail-in ballots to participate in the upcoming election.
Kim Fladhammer, Chief Deputy Clerk at the County Clerk's office, stated that Robert Francis Prevost, the original name of Pope Leo XIV, submitted his request on October 3, noting that he is registered as a voter at an address in New Lenox, Illinois.
