The Sudan Doctors Network has issued a strong condemnation regarding a drone attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces against trucks contracted with the World Food Programme. The vehicles were transporting aid supplies from Deling to Kadugli in South Kordofan state when they were targeted.

Casualties and Humanitarian Impact

In a statement released by the network, it was clarified that the assault resulted in the death of one driver and injuries to three others. The organization described this incident as a new aggression against humanitarian workers and supply chains dedicated to saving civilian lives.

The network emphasized that the targeting of World Food Programme shipments by the Rapid Support Forces poses a direct threat to civilian survival and undermines ongoing humanitarian operations in the region.

Demand for Independent Investigation

The Sudan Doctors Network called upon the United Nations, along with international humanitarian and human rights organizations, to launch an independent and transparent investigation into the attack. They demanded that those responsible be identified and that the findings of the inquiry be made public.

The World Food Programme also strongly denounced the strike on the two trucks in South Kordofan. The agency requested a swift and neutral investigation into the circumstances of the attack, insisting on accountability for any violations committed.

Details of the Targeted Convoy

According to the World Food Programme, the two trucks were en route from Deling to Kadugli at the time of the incident. The agency noted that the vehicles bore clear markings indicating their humanitarian nature.

The World Food Programme did not explicitly name the party responsible for the attack. Instead, it stated that it is currently assessing the extent of the damage sustained by the food cargo.
