The round of consultations regarding the formation of the new government began at the residence of Israeli President Isaac Herzog with a security alert following suspicion of possessing suspicious materials by a journalist.

The Hebrew newspaper "Maariv" reported that security forces were summoned to the site after suspicions arose during a security inspection of a foreign journalist who arrived at the residence.

According to the police, traces of a suspicious substance were suspected on the body of the journalist during the inspection, who works as a photographer for one of the Spanish news networks.

Following the warning, visitors were temporarily prevented from entering the residence, while ministers and Knesset members were directed to an alternative entrance. After the security inspection was completed, entry to the Israeli President's residence resumed as usual.

Government Formation Consultations
This event coincided with the Israeli President's preparation for a round of consultations with representatives of the elected factions in the Knesset, in preparation for forming the new government.

During the evening of this Wednesday, the Israeli President will receive the official election results from the head of the Central Elections Committee, Deputy Chief Justice Noam Sohlberg.

According to the law, Herzog must assign the task of forming the government within seven days of publishing the results, i.e., by next Wednesday, November 11, at the latest. The decision may be made earlier upon completion of the consultations.
