US President Donald Trump said Iran assured no tariffs on Hormuz Strait passage, warning talks would cease if that proves false.

US President Donald Trump declared that Iran informed the United States there are no tariffs imposed on passage through the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that negotiations would end immediately if this information is incorrect.
Trump also asserted that the United States has not provided any new funds to Iran, nor released any frozen assets held in America on behalf of the Iranian government. He denied any direct financial transfers or cash assistance being given to Tehran.
However, he noted that Washington is considering permitting the release of a portion of Iran's frozen funds to be used for purchasing American agricultural goods, including corn, wheat, soybeans, and other products. This measure aims to support US agricultural exports and ensure that the funds are allocated for specific commercial purposes.
The US president added that any potential arrangements concerning Iranian funds would be subject to strict controls to guarantee their use in designated and monitored purchases, rather than serving as direct financial aid to Iran.
