Trump Under Pressure to Extend Naval Blockade of Iran
Senior US officials are pushing President Donald Trump to maintain the naval blockade on Iran and extend economic pressure, according to Axios.

Senior American officials are seeking to push President Donald Trump toward solidifying the equation of the naval blockade on Iran and granting the campaign of economic pressure on Tehran more time, according to the newspaper "Axios".
The newspaper stated that CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and other advisors are pushing in this direction.
The United States and Israel had begun launching strikes on targets in Iran on February 28, to which Tehran responded with strikes from its side.
Despite the calm witnessed by the conflict, it remains unresolved, with risks of resuming combat operations.
Tehran had previously announced that it presented to the United States its plan consisting of seven conditions, including options for opening the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for lifting the naval blockade and restrictions imposed on oil exports, but the American president rejected this plan. The Iranian Foreign Ministry reported after that that it received the United States' response to the plan, and that it conveyed through Qatar its assessments of the American response.
