Ukraine Orders Evacuation of Over 7,000 Civilians from Kharkiv Region
Ukraine has mandated the evacuation of more than 7,000 civilians from the Kharkiv area amid ongoing Russian military advances.

Ukrainian authorities announced on Tuesday the evacuation of upwards of 7,000 civilians from the Kharkiv region in the northeast of the country, signaling possible territorial gains by Russian forces.
According to the news agency Agence France-Presse, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov stated on Telegram, "Due to the security situation and systematic enemy attacks, we are expanding the mandatory evacuation zone."
Russian troops continue their offensive along the northern front of Kharkiv, aiming to establish a buffer zone within Ukrainian territory.
Current fighting is concentrated in the southwestern and eastern outskirts of the city of Vovchansk. In the west of Vovchansk, Russian forces have begun storming the towns of Lusevka and Ozbetska, while in the east, they have taken control of the town of Zemlianky and commenced an assault on Podarky.
The Russian military seeks to secure control over all towns south of the Vusha River as an initial phase before launching the second stage of their attack. This next phase targets the Ukrainian defensive line near the towns of Bilyi Kolodiaz, Berklotna, and Velyka Perelka. The capture of these towns would bring Russian forces closer to enforcing a buffer zone in northern Kharkiv Oblast.
