US Defense Secretary Warns Iran Against Further Challenges to America
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth cautions Iran against escalating tensions following US airstrikes in response to a downed Apache helicopter.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated on Wednesday that it would be unwise for Iran to challenge the United States any further, following Washington’s overnight airstrikes in retaliation for the downing of an American Apache helicopter.
Speaking during a visit to the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, Hegseth described the recent strikes as defensive measures aimed at protecting the American people. He warned, "At this time, these are defensive strikes to ensure the safety of our people. Again, it would be unwise for Iran to challenge us any further," as reported by Reuters.
Hegseth added that US President Donald Trump is seeking a comprehensive agreement that serves the interests of the American people, ensuring that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons.
On the same day, Hegseth visited the US naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, marking one of the latest high-level visits by a senior American official to the island under communist rule. This visit occurs amid increasing pressure from President Trump on Havana.
This visit follows less than two weeks after General Francis Donovan, commander of US forces in Latin America, visited the Guantanamo naval base and held talks with a senior Cuban general near the base.
Additionally, Hegseth issued a warning to Cuba against acquiring weapons that could threaten the United States.
