Within the US administration, some officials have informally labeled the latest series of strikes against Iran as "Operation Slap."

The New York Post reports that this term reflects a desire among certain US officials to conduct military operations that are "painful but quick." A White House source was quoted saying that President Donald Trump "wants to end the matter as soon as possible but will not stand idly by if Iran targets US ships."

The newspaper also revealed that the term "Slap" is used by some senior officials in their conversations and email exchanges, although other sources stated they were unaware of this nickname. It is important to note that the official name for the operation is "Epic Rage."
