The United States announced positive developments in its Doha discussions with Iran, emphasizing ongoing technical negotiations to reach a ceasefire understanding.

The United States declared that its envoy-led discussions in Doha regarding Iran have made positive progress, affirming that technical negotiations with Tehran continue.
According to a statement cited by Bloomberg, a US official said that President Joe Biden’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, former President Trump's son-in-law, held "positive discussions with regional leaders" in Doha.
The same official added that technical communications between the US and Iran remain ongoing as part of efforts to reach agreements on halting hostilities.
In a related development, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with Witkoff and Kushner to discuss the ongoing negotiations under the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States concerning a ceasefire.
The Qatari ministry further stated that both sides also examined recent developments in the Middle East, focusing particularly on the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, and exchanged views on ways to support regional stability.
Meanwhile, US Vice President J.D. Vance warned that talks with Iran are still in their early stages and emphasized that the US administration retains numerous pressure tools that have yet to be employed to secure outcomes favorable to Washington.
Vance urged caution in interpreting the developments, noting attempts by multiple parties to oversimplify the situation.
