The U.S. Southern Command announced on Wednesday that its Joint Task Force "Southern Spear" carried out a lethal combat strike targeting a boat in the Pacific Ocean operated by organizations classified as terrorist.
The U.S. Southern Command said that according to intelligence information, the boat was sailing on Monday through known drug smuggling routes in the Eastern Pacific Ocean and was engaged in active smuggling operations. The strike resulted in the death of one "drug terrorist," while two other individuals survived.
It added in a post on the platform "X": "Following the engagement, the U.S. Southern Command notified the Coast Guard to activate search and rescue operations for the survivors, while no injuries were recorded among U.S. forces."
