US Warns Iran Against Attacks in Strait of Hormuz Amid Military Tensions
The United States has issued warnings to Iran through intermediaries, threatening military escalation if attacks on navigation in the Strait of Hormuz continue.

Sources disclosed to two news channels on Saturday that the United States has sent warnings to Iran via intermediaries regarding threats to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The sources confirmed that Washington warned Tehran it would not remain silent in the face of any aggression against navigation freedom, demanding written and public commitments from Iran not to target tankers again.
They added that the US cautioned Iran about "severe consequences" for any hostile behavior in the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that "any hostile action along any route in Hormuz will have grave repercussions."
According to the sources, Washington stated that Iran's failure to respond would result in military escalation against it.
In recent days, three ships were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, a passage through which about one-fifth of the world's oil supplies transit, prompting US President Donald Trump to respond with strikes on Iranian targets.
The US bombardment caused the deaths of 17 people and injuries to 93 others in Iran over two days, despite a memorandum of understanding between the two sides to halt hostilities, according to the latest figures from the Iranian Ministry of Health.
US military officials reported that approximately 90 Iranian military targets were hit in the recent strikes, including air defense systems, missile storage sites, and drone facilities.
President Trump also announced the end of the ceasefire agreement signed by both parties in June.
