Economy Ministry: About 50% of Total Inspection Reports Targeted Electric Generators

In the context of monitoring campaigns conducted in coordination with security and judicial agencies, the Consumer Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Economy and Trade announced in its weekly report:

- Since the beginning of the year until August 21: Responded to 925 complaints, carried out 15,124 field inspections, and issued 659 inspection reports.

- In week 17 until August 21: Responded to 42 complaints, conducted 448 inspections resulting in the issuance of 20 inspection reports.

- Issued suspension decisions for 25 commercial establishments after verifying non-compliance with required standards. Meanwhile, four establishments were allowed to resume trading after re-adjusting their products and proving compliance with specifications.

- Noted that 321 inspection reports specifically targeted electric generators alone, accounting for 49% of the total 659 inspection reports issued since the beginning of the year.

As the Ministry of Economy and Trade promotes the slogan "Every Citizen a Monitor," it urges citizens and consumers to file complaints regarding any violations they observe, either through its electronic application (MoET Digital Services), or via the hotline of the Lebanese Consumer Association (01750650).
